1) Items to Bring to Your Initial Appointment
If you wish, you may complete your intake sheet in advance of your scheduled legal consultation. All legal matters may complete a general intake sheet, accessible at the link below:
If your legal consultation is regarding a family law matter, you may wish to complete the more comprehensive intake sheet in advance of your appointment. It is not required that you complete the Family Law Client Intake Sheet in advance of your appointment. Please click the link below to access the family law intake sheet:
In all matters, we request that if you have recently served with civil litigation, that you bring to your initial appointment a copy of that legal document, along with any additional documents that you believe might be important.
2) Fees for Initial Appointments
There is usually a fee for initial consultations. However, for certain legal matters with specific attorneys, complimentary initial consultations are provided. At the time of the scheduling of your appointment, we will confirm those details with you so that you have an expectation in advance of your appointment. If a fee is to be charged, all major credit and debit cards, cash or personal check are accepted at the time of your appointment. You may wish to prepay and you can do so securely here.
3) Policy with Regard to Legal Fees
Your specific legal matter is unique, as all legal matters are unique. If your matter involves litigation, many facts and circumstances will determine the amount of time which will be required to be appropriately represented in your matter from start to finish. Therefore, it is not possible to estimate entire legal fees in advance of your initial appointment without determining what factors may be important in your matter.
We work with clients in developing solid expectations with regards to fees. It is our goal to provide cost-effective representation to suit your unique individual matter, your financial considerations, and we are proud to represent clients from a full spectrum of financial backgrounds.
4) Lawyer-Client Relationship
At your initial appointment, we will discuss all aspects of legal representation and all information shared by you will remain confidential as being provided by a prospective client, as is our professional obligation. Please note that before meeting with you with regard to your matter, we have not yet agreed to accept representation of you as an ongoing client with any requirement to perform legal services beyond your initial consultation. After we have met with you and discussed your matter and if you are interested in choosing our firm to move forward, we will inform you if we will undertake representation.
